Sorry for the non-activity of these days, I know you’re not checking the site too eagerly (after 2 days without posts the traffic drops to nearly zero)…but of course it’s because you’re all top tech readers using RSS and syndication…
I’ve been in semi-vacation, hangin’ out with friends that were flying by Milano for a few days, and now it’s my turn to fly out for a little while, to Budapest, HUN, to be exact.
I’ll come back with some new content, after the break.
Want to keep the site alive during the stop? Did you try win-get ? Leave a comment about that topic and see if other people found it useful.
Ok you got me, I’m shamelessly begging for comments :-)
Stay tuned, more to come.

You want comments, I give you comments :D
Well, I haven’t tried win-get yet and I think I’ll never do it… I find it nearly useless under Windows… More more more usefull under Linux where applications are less “foundable” (does this word exist?! 0_o I guess no…) in the net and more difficult to install …
Ciao Mike!
Have nice time in Buda…Happy to see that u finally decide to go on holiday…or maybe u’re always on Holiday??????
hihihihi
Kisses from Romania

Oh… you’re back!! I think, I noticed you this morning!! :-)
When are you going to Milan?!
Uff…Mike!!! I am the comment number 3!!!!
@ZazzA: so you would rather go to google, search for the program, look for the download page, download the setup somewhere and doubleclick it, then deleting it?
Otherwise, I think you might not have understood what the tool does :D
In Linux it’s different. Most of the time you have a fully fledged packet managment system (such as dpkg and its frontend apt on Debian-Ubuntu-others). Most of the software you need is on their repositories, where’s the problem in finding it?
If it’s not, 99% of the time is a matter of adding the right repository (mostly true for controversial software like non-free plugins or DRM related stuff).
If the software you want has not been packaged for your Package Manager, there is something more exoteric to do, maybe, but that has nothing to do with the issue of “finding” the program.
What have you been searching for to come to that conclusion about “foundability” ?
:-)

Hi Mike!
Did you have fun on holidays?
I have a question…. where did you found two girls disposed to write on your blog?
Please… tell me your secret!
@Stefano
Having a sister and a female friend isn’t all that uncommon these days…
Cheers
